Diesel Generation - Public Service Announcement

With temperatures forecasted to dip into the single digit territory this week, Wrangell Municipal Light & Power was notified that SEAPA’s system loads are too high and therefore, they will require supplemental power with diesel generation starting at tonight, Thursday, January 11th (midnight). We are expecting to be on diesel generation until Saturday, January 13th (midnight). This may lead to diesel surcharges on your electric bill.

During this period, please be conscious of usage and conserve as much as possible while protecting water pipes and keeping warm. Using woodstoves, adding a clothing layer to be comfortable, and turning off lights that are not needed will help to keep our electrical loads within SEAPA’s capacity.
