WRANGELL CITY & BOROUGH FULL OFFICE CLOSURES &
SUSPENSION OF UTILITY DISCONNECTS
Wrangell, AK – In addition to City Hall, all remaining City & Borough offices will be closed to public access. Again, this is being done out of an abundance of caution, and to further promote social distancing. The closure will remain in effect March 20, 2020 through March 31, 2020. The Public Safety Building will be open for access to the State Court Office, which is remaining open at this time. The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will be closed. Emergency Dispatch will also be open for public access to the Police Department. The solid waste transfer station (dump) will remain open to the public at this time as well.
City & Borough staff will be working regular business hours during the closure. The public is encouraged to call to address business as usual with all departments.
In recognition of the economic impact the Coronavirus is having on businesses and individuals, the City & Borough is temporarily suspending utility disconnects, and late fees, for non-payment for the next two months. This action does not relieve utility customers from paying for utility services that have already been received. It does provide temporary relief for those facing income uncertainty during this health emergency.
