Solid Waste Transfer Station HOURS of Operation (Landfill facility) and Monofill Disposal Site

Expanded Hours at the Landfill

We are excited to announce that beginning Monday, October 17, 2022, the City and Borough of Wrangell Waste Transfer Station will have expanded hours. 

Moving forward “the dump” hours will be:

 Monday-Saturday 8:30 am-11:00 am & 12:00 pm-3:30 pm

Sunday- closed

Disposal Materials, Recyclables and Fees

Recyclable materials (batteries, aluminum, copper, brass, paper, cardboard) can be dropped off at no charge.  All other items are based on volume based on $18.00 minimum charge, up to one yard, and add $8.00 for each additional yard delivered above the first one yard.

Monofill Disposal Site

To use the City & Borough's Monofill Disposal site (Landfill) for disposal of unclassified land development excavation materials, users must first obtain a permit from Public Works.  Unclassified excavation material means any material excavated in the process of land development, except demolition materials, trees, brush, stumps and other similar materials.  The permit application and instructions can be found on the attachment below.
