Water Conservation
Request to the public:
We are asking the public to please try and conserve water.
Even though we have had some rain recently, to maintain reservoir levels, consumption flows to town from the water plant are UP and the siphon has been started from our upper to lower reservoir.
Residents are encouraged to voluntarily cut water consumption if you are able to.
Staff in the water department are monitoring the situation daily. If flows stay high and if we were to have an unusually dry end to our summer, it is possible that we would need to implement a stage 1 water shortage warning, possibly as early as the first week in August.
As of right now we are still in good shape with good water supply and the goal here is to inform people where water levels are at so there are fewer surprises if the situation changes. A resource for tips on conserving water can be found HERE.
Please reach out to the Public Works Department at (907) 874-3904 with any questions.
