Evergreen Road Improvements & Pedestrian Access Project
Project Status Updates
July 11, 2018 ~ On Friday, July 13th, 2018, there will be a water outage throughout the Evergreen Avenue service area while SECON relocates a fire hydrant and its associated water valve along the project. Water to the area will be shut off at 10:00 AM and will be on again by 4:30 PM. SECON will do everything they can to make the water outage as short as possible. SECON thanks the affected residents for their understanding during this time.
June 20, 2018 ~ The Alaska DOT and SECON will begin work on the rehabilitation of Evergreen Avenue this Thursday, June 21st. Work will begin on the airport end of the project, working towards the ferry terminal. Crews will first focus on drainage work, primarily at driveway crossings, on both sides of the road. Effected residents will be contacted directly by SECON. The traveling public should expect short delays in work areas. Drivers should pay attention and adhere to traffic signs and traffic flaggers and proceed with caution through the work zone for the safety of all crewmen and pedestrians. They thank you for your patience and look forward to improving this roadway for Wrangell.
