WMC Long Term Care Facility receives NATIONAL RECOGNITION

The Center for Medicare Services (CMS) has published new Five-Star rankings on its Nursing Home Compare (NHC) website and for the second year in a row, Wrangell Medical Center’s Long Term Care facility has received a Five-Star overall rating.

Wrangell Medical Center’s Long-Term Care has received an overall rating of “Top Performing” in a recent ranking of nursing homes by US News and World Report.

The rankings were published at the end of October with WMC listed as just one of six nursing homes in Alaska to receive this top designation. WMC was also the only ‘very small’ facility in Southeast Alaska named as a “Best Nursing Home” in the study.

"Not only am I proud of the great work that is being done by our team, but the surveyors have recognized it again as well," remarked CEO, Robert Rang upon release of the 2017 rankings.

Ratings come from the most recent survey by State Medicare inspectors who were in Wrangell June 6-9 to speak with staff and inspect the building.
