Summer Reading Program
About the program:
The library and Wrangell School District work cooperatively to offer this popular program to children entering grades K through 9. The purpose of this program is to maintain and/or improve the reading skills of children in Wrangell over the summer. Summer reading programs are essential to helping students become better readers, writers and spellers. Public library programs can help meet the personal and social needs of youth and help them feel safe, cared for and valued. Numerous studies have shown that reading over the summer prevents reading loss. (Tony Evers, Ph.D.)
