The city of Wrangell is strategically located in central southeast Alaska, in the heart of the Inside Passage and the Tongass National Forest. Wrangell is easily accessible to all other major southeast communities as well as key hubs of Seattle, WA, Juneau, AK and Anchorage, AK. The community itself is on the northern end of Wrangell Island, just 2.5 miles from the Stikine River Delta.

Access to Wrangell is via Alaska Airlines daily jet service or by the Alaska Marine Highway System. Transportation of cargo and perishable goods is available by air and three interstate marine transportation companies. Local charter companies provide additional transportation needs by marine or air service.
